スマートフォン・ブーム？
二月になり、雨の日が増えたり春のような日があったりして、少しずつ季節が変わろうとしている気配が感じられるようになってきました。
さて、弊社代表奥脇は、最近NexusOneというものを入手し夢中になっています。
NexusOneとはなんぞや？と言いますと、携帯電話なのですが普通の携帯電話ではありません。
平たくて画面が大きくて、ボタンがないんです。
大きな画面がタッチパネルになっており、凸凹したボタンはひとつもありません。
携帯電話でありながら、OSが入っていていろんなアプリケーションが入れられる、小さなパソコンに近いものです。
このようなものを「スマートフォン」と総称し、すでに国内で有名なものとしてアップル社が出してソフトバンクが販売しているiPhoneが挙げられます。
代表奥脇は当初iPhoneを購入予定だったのですが、やんごとない事情によりそちらを諦め、Andoroid携帯とかGoogle携帯と呼ばれて日本国内ではまだ正式販売されていない希少なNexusOneを選びました。

そして、この記事を書いている私はiPhoneを購入しました。
結局まだやってるような雰囲気なんですが、1月末まで本体ゼロ円キャンペーンをやっていて、かねてから周囲に「買え買え」の呪いを受けていたので、もうこの際悩むより買ってしまえということでソフトバンクのお店に。
長くPHSユーザだった私にとって、実は初めての携帯電話契約です。
iPhoneは全然普通の携帯ではなく・・・通話に使用したことは未だ一度もありません。
正直に言うと、Twitterというネットのサービスをいつでもどこでも使うというのが主な購入の目的でした。
でも、買って使うとやはり便利で、今まで家のPCでしか見れなかったメールも見れるし、ナビゲーション機能などもかなり便利。
無料のアプリケーションが沢山あり、子供に触らせると知らぬ間にやたらとゲーム・アプリを入れられてました。
システム業界ではiPhone対応アプリ開発の話も聞くようになり、またTwitterその他関連サービスも次々に出てくるので、開発者としてスマートフォンが何たるかは知っておいて損はない・・・ハズ。
今のところ、一人の社員がNexusOneとiPhoneを見比べて、どうもiPhoneが欲しくなってウズウズしている様子。
悩んでないで、買えばいいんですよ！
と、心の中で思っている今日この頃です。
